Printer (Ink and Toner) Cartridge Recycling

Inkjet printer and laser printer toner cartridges are often recycled differently in Washington State; many locations accept printer cartridges at no charge, but some do charge a fee, and some limit the number of cartridges that can be dropped off by household or by day.   Multiple resources for dropping off cartridges for recycling or proper disposal are available.  Select below by your location to find organizations that accept printer cartridges:

UW Seattle Campus     |     King County     |     Snohomish County     |     Pierce County

With the exception of UW Seattle recycling, the information on this page is for household recycling.   To make your printer cartridge recycling or disposal experience fast and efficient, we recommend that you:

  1. Call ahead! Make sure the business accepts your printer cartridge types and is open at a time that is convenient for you.  Confirm the recycling fee (if any) for your printer cartridges.
  2. Know that many businesses offer pick-up of a large volume of total items for a small fee.
